Engaged dialog between business and politicians
On Monday, WERA hosted a breakfast with the minister and members of parliament, attended by both the Minister of Energy Terje Aasland and the newly elected Telemark bench. The aim was to create a meeting place where the business community in Grenland could ask questions directly to the MPs. The room was filled with representatives […]
A great commitment
This was the first time the business community in Grenland got to meet the new Telemark bench after the election and the questions from the audience were many and varied, but unfortunately the time passed quickly. Several people didn’t have time to speak, which according to advisor at Pflug Rådgivning and associate partner at WERA, Hege Pflug, only shows the strength of the event:
– It just shows how much commitment there is to having a dialog between business and politicians,” she said.
CEO Dag Brekke-Rasmussen points out that the initiative is a natural part of WERA’s role:
– “We’re a house of communication, so we think it’s important to create arenas for communication between politics and business. There are many important issues on the agenda in Telemark right now, and we want to contribute to good conversations,” he says.
Continuing with meeting places
This was not the first time WERA arranged a breakfast meeting, but with both the prime minister and a newly elected parliamentary bench in place, the setting this time was particularly relevant. The plan is to continue to invite business and politicians to more arenas in the future.
– We really appreciate that so many people took the time to participate, and we look forward to arranging more gatherings like this,” says Brekke-Rasmussen.
